    Background

Ben-Gurion predicts the Six Day War will not be Israel’s last. So long as the United States and Russia fight the Cold War by sending arms to the Arabs, there will be no peace in the Mideast, he explains: not between the Arabs, or between Arabs and Israel.
Autograph Letter Signed (“D. Ben-Gurion”), 1 page, octavo, Haifa [Israel], August 12, 1967. To General Julius Klein in Chicago. With autograph envelope.

    My dear General Julius Klein
Like all Jews I am proud of the victory of our Army, but I am not certain that the six days war was the last war we have to fight and win. Unless the U.S. and Soviet Russia are coming much nearer to each other and stop sending arms to the Arabs - I am afraid there will be no peace in the Middle East, between the Arabs themselves and between Arabs and Israel.

    Yours,
    D. Ben-Gurion
