Quick Reference

      Background

The bodies of three officers killed with Custer at Little Bighorn have never been identified; the likable Lieutenant Harrington’s, is one of them. Leading Company C into battle at the Little Bighorn was, incredibly, his first combat experience; not so incredibly, then, it was his last.
Signature, identified in autograph as 2nd Lieutenant 7th Cavalry, no place, no date (circa June 1872 – June 1876); on a sextodecimo slip of lined paper, clipped from a larger page.
